Volunteering at the Community Garden
Recently we spent a day volunteering at the Tarrant County Food Bank Community Garden. Elijah was so excited; he wanted to do it all! This is just one way that kids can help and learn, while still having a blast.
There are so many ways that children can benefit from being outdoors. Learning about gardening at the local community garden is such a fun way for kids to acquire knowledge and skills that they can carry with them throughout their lives, as well learning the importance of altruism within their community.
The Tarrant County Food Bank Community Garden has many volunteer opportunities. Follow this link to learn more: https://tafb.org/community-garden/.
If you would rather learn about gardening in your own yard, there are many resources that can help with that as well. Junior Master Gardener has a great children’s program that can be very educational; https://jmgkids.us.
